The Doctoral School of Miguel Hernández University of Elche (EDUMH) is the university structure responsible for the planning, organization, management, and coordination of the doctoral programs at Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH). It operates under the Vice-Rectorate with responsibilities in research. The EDUMH was established through DECREE 78/2022, dated June 3, issued by the Consell, which authorized the creation of the Doctoral School at Miguel Hernández University of Elche.

The EDUMH is a multidisciplinary Doctoral School that encompasses all Doctoral Programs and was created with the aim of enabling UMH to:

  • Promote excellence and internationalization in its doctoral programs.
  • Enhance its doctoral training offerings, particularly in transversal skills.
  • Improve the quality scientific productivity of doctoral theses.
  • Implement strategic cross-cutting actions to improve facilities and equipment, the organization and management of knowledge, and cooperation with the socio-economic environment within the framework of doctoral studies.
  • Create a centralized structure to optimize human resources involved in administrative, economic, and training management, as well as in the tracking of alumni.
  • Centralize all matters related to doctoral studies within a single academic-administrative structure.
